When I was a kid I seem to remember these always being around our house at Christmas time.  Loved the candy and also playing with the tins once they were empty! I still use the pretty tins to this day for postage stamps, paper clips etc.  Hard fruit candies are refreshing over the holidays when food and treats can be overly rich.  A lovely sweet surprise to find in one's Christmas stocking Christmas morn.
